I AM PLAYR (http://apps.facebook.com/iamplayr/) has now officially launched after a successful beta period which has seen the game rack up over a quarter of million players. I AM PLAYR is the first ever point-of-view online football game that lets you play the life of a professional footballer at fictional club River Park FC.

 

With the new super-slick I AM PLAYR you get more freedom to make your own way through your football career. Expanded training options mean you have to work on your dribbling and passing skills to hit optimum match fitness and give yourself the best chance to finish the season with the golden boot. The I AM PLAYR world has become more immersive with choices to be made at every turn. Fame or football? It really is a balancing act. Chase the limelight too much and you might find you aren’t so popular around the dressing room.

 

We R Interactive co-founder Oli Madgett said:We’ve listened to what the players want and taken the reins off I AM PLAYR giving you more freedom in the game and more training sessions. I AM PLAYR already has some big name brand backers - Nike is Principal Brand Partner, Red Bull is the game’s energy drink, Alfa Romeo is the sponsor of River Park FC and Ginsters is the clubs’ shirt sponsor. And the game has caught the attention of some leading lights in the real football world - former Arsenal and England full back Lee Dixon and ex-Liverpool FC managing director Christian Purslow are both investors in I AM PLAYR.
